Research Interests	I have studied topics related with armed conflicts and peace-building in the Great Lakes Region. Focus of my study has been on Rwanda, in which the state-society relations have been drastically changed in the course of post-conflict state-building process after 1994. Actually, my research interest is particularly on land problems in post-conflict settings, as I conduct a related research project in JICA Research Institute. Massive moves of refugees and internally displaced persons caused by armed conflicts have frequently brought about serious land conflicts. On the basis of my own researches in Rwanda and Burundi, I would like to make comparison with similar cases in other countries.
